Train to Jaipur. The city is big, busy, noisy and packed with tourists — it's the most Westerners we've seen since Fort Kochin way back in Kerala.
The palace here has been 'restored', unsympathetically as usual. It looks like a cheap film set. The museum contains some interesting books and manuscripts as well as miniature paintings from the Maharaja's collection. But otherwise it's an uninspiring place. To see inside the Maharaja's undoubtedly luxurious living quarters costs Rs 2500!
Unfortunately the delicious tandoori meal we had at lunch makes me vomit and gives both of us the shits.
